Kindling Words West

The Kindling Words West application period will be November 10 – 17. KWW27 will be at the beautiful Whidbey Institute in Washington State April 26th – May 3rd, 2027. KWW27 fees will be the same as KWW26. Keep an eye on your email for more information!

Many attendees cite Kindling Words West as among their most productive weeks of the year. Attendees will take inspiration from a speaker every morning, and spend their days as they choose. Evenings after dinner are available for Spark Spaces.

Registration

Registration opens November 10th, at 8 p.m. Eastern/5 p.. Pacific. You do not need photos or a bio to register; we’ll ask for those later. Our registration form includes easy questions (e.g. your contact information and book title).

You need only prepare the following:

  • Your preferences for accommodations
  • Your $475 deposit

Eligibility 1
If you are an author or illustrator you must have at least one book published or under contract that meets ALL of these criteria. If you are an editor you must currently work for a publishing house that meets ALL of these criteria, or if you are currently an editor whose prior work history matches these criteria, you are also eligible (and please check all five boxes below).
