Kindling Words West has found a splendid new home among the earth-tenders at Whidbey Institute. In 2020, we’ll meet April 5-12 (add on days are possible.) We take the ferry just north of Seattle and settle in among the tall northwestern pines for a week that will nourish our bodies and our creative spirits.
REGISTRATION FOR KINDLING WORDS WEST OPENS OCTOBER 5TH
and registration closes when all the beds are taken!
Whidbey Institute has a mission to nurture people who are actively making the world a better place, and they are delighted to bring our group of children’s book creators into their midst. The rooms are rustic, the woods ancient, the architecture breathtaking, and the food is glorious.
There are new cabins and vintage cabins, and the difference is reflected in the cost. Last year we found that most people preferred to work in the beautiful public buildings around the campus instead of in their rooms. Because of this, we are encouraging people to choose a roommate and double up.The more people share rooms, the more we can let in!
The cost for a single room for seven days, all meals included ranges from $1370-$1450. A double room for the week is from $910-$980.
The KWW schedule includes morning yoga, breakfast, then the day filled with deeply focused creation. Our evenings kick off with a workshop then blend into spark-space discussions, and walks in the wide pine woods among spring blossoms.
All three Kindling Words strands are welcome, Authors, Illustrators and Editors. We rotate among our strands for presenters, and 2020 is an editor-led year.
