Cost for Kindling Words West

Total costs for the week are:

  • $2450 for those in a private room

  • $1900 for those in a shared room

Costs include room, KWW tuition, meals, and facility fees. The initial deposit, due at registration, is $450.

Kindling Words West is able to offer payment plans and limited scholarships. If attending Kindling Words West would present a financial hardship, please contact registrar Sunshine Bacon at kww@kindlingwords.org.

Upon registering, all participants will pay a nonrefundable deposit of $450. Once roommate pairings are complete and attendees’ preferences for single/double accommodations are confirmed, participants will have several options for payment:

  • Pay the full remainder by January 15
  • Pay the remainder in two equal halves on January 15 and March 15
  • Pay the raminder in thirds on January 15, February, 15, and March 15

Because Kindling Words has negotiated use of the Whidbey Institute facility for the duration, we cannot prorate fees for attendees who arrive late or depart early.

If you are an author or illustrator you must have at least one book published or under contract that meets ALL of these criteria. If you are an editor you must currently work for a publishing house that meets ALL of these criteria, or if you are currently an editor whose prior work history matches these criteria, you are also eligible (and please check all five boxes below).
